TIP 763: Use the XDG desktop portal on X11 for the file dialogs (tk_getOpenFile, tk_getSaveFile, tk_chooseDirectory), tk print and tk sysnotify.
libdbus is loaded at runtime (unix/tkUnixPortal.c, a generic bridge: ::tk::portal::_call, _request, _parent); the portal logic is in library/portal.tcl. The Tcl dialogs, the Tk print dialog, libnotify and the Tk notification window remain as fallbacks. When printing to a file, the document is converted to PDF or PostScript with cupsfilter (or ps2pdf).
