We would need to be able to reproduce this to call it not pilot 
error.  You are sourcing a site-specific file, so anything might 
have gone wrong before Bwidgets was used.

Can you please submit a small standalone code fragment that
reproduces this fault. For instance,

 % package require BWidget
 1.6
 % LabelEntry .le0 -label Label -labelwidth 20 -labelanchor
w -textvariable  ::_le0
 .le0
 pack .le0 -side top -fill x

works fine for me. This is with the current CVS head for
BWidgets.
