Doing a Tcl/Tk build on Windows WSL, I see: ./configure --disable-shared --enable-64bit .... checking for wine... no checking for cross-compile version of gcc... yes checking for mingw32 version of gcc... yes checking for working -municode linker flag... no checking for working -fno-lto... yes checking if the linker understands --disable-high-entropy-va... no checking if the compiler understands -finput-charset... yes checking for working --enable-auto-image-base... no checking compiler flags... using static flagsSomehow the linker flags -municode and --disable-high-entropy-va are not recognized, but clearly the linkes has those. If I manually edit the configure script to add those options, everything works. So, why aren't the linker flags recognized? | ||||

Proposed fix [f3f4ce0296820f18|here] Since Tclsh doesn't compile will without -municode (missing symbol "WinMain") and all recent (10 years or so) gcc/clang compilers suppport it, the check is no longer necessary. jan.nijtmans added on 2025-12-22 08:31:22:
