Only one retriever is available at the moment, accessing a repository managed by CVS. Other possibilities I can think of at the moment are RCS, SCCS.

Three packers are provided as part of this distribution. Two of them generate tar-archives, which are then compressed, either with gzip or compress. The last one uses zip to generate a pkzip-compatible archive, which is usable under Windows.

Of transport systems I have three, too. The first transfers the archive and all files from the support area to the current directory. The other two write them a to a tape or floppy device.

Other possibilities/ideas for transporters are:

• Mail the whole distribution (or part of it) somewhere.
• ftp it to predefined locations (see *-urls part of the DESCRIPTION).
• Place it on web server (POST?).
• Something special to tcl: ftp it to the main archive, then send mail to the archive and FAQ maintainers, at last send the announcement to the comp.lang.tcl.announce moderator. This mode should be used by someone only if (s)he is really convinced to have a working package, though. Don't use such a beast as default!
